Robert Earl Radford has built Northern High School to a softball powerhouse claiming 8 State Championships in 12 years.

Biography

Robert Earl Radford has built Northern High School to a  softball powerhouse. In 2013 Radford’s team was ranked #1 by MaxPreps.com after winning its sixth straight Maryland state softball title. The Patriots finished 23-0, extending their win streak to 76 straight without a loss.

In addition to Northern, Radford is the manager and head coach of the Bayside Blues, an A-Level Travel Team in Maryland. He still remains involved after 28 years.

Radford stepped down after twelve seasons. He rebuilt Northern to state prominence. Over his time coaching he held a record of 227-43-1. The team won eight Class 3A state championships and seven Southern Maryland Athletic Conference crowns.

Radford accepted an assistant position at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. for the 2017 season.
