Biography
While Norman Grimes scholastic career came to an end before trying to defend his UIL Class 5A 300 meter hurdles title, he still is the #1 hurdler in America. Grimes’ suffered a hamstring injury and had to drop-out of the UIL regionals thus preventing him from qualifying for the state championships.
At the 2015 World Youth Championships in Columbia, Grimes won the gold medal in the 400m hurdles. Grimes will be continuing on to Texas Tech in the fall.
Grimes went on to be a three time NCAA Qualifier. In 2019, Grimes became a USTFCCCA First Team All American. His performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships clinched the team title for Texas Tech by running a 48.71 PR for a school record. The sub 49 is the fifth best time in the world.
