Biography

Brunelle, who will attend Notre Dame University on a scholarship, closed-out her career 11th on the Virginia all-time scoring list with 2,292 points and 6th on the state’s all-time rebounding list with 1,267. Sam led William Monroe to the state’s Class 4A state semifinals this past season, finishing with a 24-3 record.

Brunelle, who played in the McDonald’s All-American Game in March, led the United States to a gold medal in the 3X3 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also led Team USA to gold medals in the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup and 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championships.

Brunelle started in all 31 games as a freshman averaging 13.9 points, a conference high. She was named to the ACC All-Freshman team in 2020.
