Biography
Not many players are fortunate to win two state singles titles in hotly-competitive Texas, but Francis has accomplished the feat. Despite a loss in the finals of the region tournament earlier this month – her first in high school competition since the state tournament her freshman year – she has a chance to make it three titles later this month, which she did.
The reigning Dallas Morning News Most Valuable Player is the first three-time champion in Class 5A – the state’s highest class – in 35 years. Also active on the junior tennis circuit, she will attend Southern Methodist University.
She finished her career at SMU with 86 doubles victories, a school record, and 77 single victories, placing her sixth overall.
