Biography

Miner Webster is the 2012 National High School Coaches Association’s National High School Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year after leading Highland to a 32-3 record, which put him one victory away from playing for a possible ninth Arizona state championship.

This past season, Webster won his 700th game as a girls’ head basketball coach and finished the year with an all-time mark of 712-107 with stops at Highland and Gilbert High Schools.

Before becoming a girls’ head coach, Webster also was the head coach of the boys’ basketball team at Parker High School. Webster is second on Arizona’s all-time girls’ basketball coaching victories list behind Don Petranovich, who retired with 778 wins.

Webster continued to lead Highland until his retirement after the 2018 season. He concluded his career with a total of 816 career wins, eight state championships and 22 region titles. He is the winningest girls’ basketball coach in Arizona history.

In 2014 Webster was inducted into the Arizona High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame.
