Biography
Pechota closed-out his scholastic career by leading St. Ignatius to its third straight Ohio Division I high school soccer championship with a 2-1 overtime win over Centerville. Pechota assisted on the Wildcats’ first goal.
The future Ohio State Buckeye scored 14 goals as a senior and was named the United Soccer Coaches High School Player of the Year. He was named the 2020-21 Gatorade Ohio High School Player of the Year after scoring 14 goals with 12 assists. He was also Ohio Mr. Soccer twice.
Pechota is the second St. Ignatius student-athlete to win the NHSCA Senior Boys’ Soccer Athlete of the Year Award. Stephen Miloan won the award during the 2016-17 sports season.
