Biography

Rountree’s 15th season at Douglas was a record-setting one. Her 2006 team finished 23-1-1 and won its fourth consecutive Class 6A state title, becoming the first public school to win four straight in Florida. Her career record is 392-58-32, with 332 of those victories coming at Douglas, and her teams have won 13 consecutive district titles and made 10 appearances in the state’s Final Four.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s South Region Division 1 Coach of the Year in 2005, Rountree was voted Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers for the third time in four years.  She is the only coach to win the award in back-to-back years in its 14-year history.

Since being honored in 2006, Rountree stepped down from coaching;  subsequently. In 2018, Rountree returned to Douglas and took over the team once again.

Most recently Rountree led Douglas to the Regional Championships in 2020. Rountree has now amassed over 450 wins in her career. In the spring of 2021, she was named the Bun Sentinel Broward 7A-6A Coach of the Year.
