Biography
Often compared to former NHSCA Senior Athlete of the Year and University of Texas pitching ace Cat Osterman, the 5-foot-11 Shortridge improved to 24-1 this season after pitching back-to-back perfect games on April 22, striking out 30 of the 45 batters she faced. She has a 0.13 earned-run average and 331 strikeouts in 160 innings for Keller, ranked No. 2 nationally.
Offensively, she is hitting .539 with six doubles, seven triples, two home runs, 24 RBIs and 36 stolen bases. Over the past two seasons she has allowed just five earned runs in 414 innings. A two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team selection, Shortridge will attend Baylor University.
While at Baylor, she was named Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year. She was also deemed First-team All-Big 12 Conference selection. After her freshman year Shortridge transferred to LSU. In her senior year she was one of four who started in each game. She’s the fifth player to be designated Louisville Slugger/NFCA First Team All American honors in the program’s illustrious history.
