Biography
After nearly a half-century of coaching track and field at Lancaster, Carriero stepped-down as the head coach of both the boys’ and girls’ teams. He’s coached 38 state champions (boys and girls, indoor and outdoor), many more Section VI champions, nearly 30 boys’ division-title winning teams (outdoor and indoor) and 17 girls division team winners.
About a week ago, Carriero told WKBW-TV, “I pinch myself sometimes and say, how can anybody be so lucky, to be in a community and in a group of people for so long and be like brothers? I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
