Impact Statement

“It’s every day. For how hard we train, the mentality is to give it your all, all the time and that will be no different today or tomorrow or the first game of the Olympics.”

Biography

Falgowski, a forward, was a four-time All-State selection. She was voted the state’s Player of the Year as a sophomore, when she scored 17 goals and added 15 assists, and as a junior, when she led St. Mark’s to the state title game with eight goals and 13 assists.

A member of six U.S. National Teams, she became the youngest player ever selected to the U.S. Senior National Team, and competed in the World Cup last September, a month before her 18th birthday, as the U.S. finished sixth.

A three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) First Team All-American, she will attend the University of North Carolina.

As a senior at UNC, she was named the National Player of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.  She was a four- time All Americans (first-team twice, second-team twice) and four-time All-ACC honoree.

In 2008 Falgowski was the only collegiate team member representing the United States in the Olympics. She was also on the 2012 and the 2016 Olympic Teams. She also won Gold at the 2011 and the 2015 Pan American Games. She was named a FIH World All-Star in 2011.

In 2018, Falgowski, now Ginolfi, retired from field hockey after a career for the record books.
