Biography

Coach Kesterson, who owns 843 career victories, led Cathedral to Indiana’s 4A state title, plus was named the #1 team in the nation by MaxPreps. Cathedral finished a perfect 36-0, which marks the first-time that a 4A school had a perfect season in Indiana volleyball history.

In the spring of 2015, Kesterson, who also teaches PE and Business at the school, underwent emergency open heart surgery to replace a heart valve and repair her aortic arch.

Since stepping aside in 2016, Kesterson was elected as the first president of the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association. Here, she’s working to promote high standards of coaching in the state.

Kesterson retired from teaching after 30 years at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
