Biography

Negro, a St. John Bosco graduation’91, took the helm as the head coach in 2010. Within three season, Negro and crew captured a Trinity League title. Additionally, they made the Pac 5 division semifinals. The next season, the Braces were 16-0 in 2013. They earned another Trinity title and this time, they won the Open Division California State Championship with a victory over De La Salle. They were deemed the #1 team in the nation by both Max Preps and USA Today.

In 2018, the Braves made it to their sixth straight CIF-SS Division 1 Finals, falling just short of the title. The following year, the Braves made it to their 7th Finals appearance, which is a state record. This year they captured another State title. After this accomplishment, Negro was named the National Coach of the Year and the Decade by Max Preps.

Post COVID, Negro and the Braves continued their winning ways with another State and National title in 2022.
