Russell, a three time State Champion, finished 8th overall in wins in Mountain Pointe’s history.
Biography
“Athletes like Geoff Russell are among the success stories produced in high school athletics today,” NHSCA executive director Bob Ferraro said. “He has worked extremely hard to develop his skills and has become one of the best tennis players in the entire nation, and we are proud to be honoring him.”
Russell won Class 5A state singles titles as a freshman, junior, and senior. He was undefeated his final two year and didn’t lose a single set as a junior. As a senior, he won 56 of 58 sets. He accepted a scholarship to the College of William & Mary.
