Biography

Dan Green, coach of The Woodlands, Texas, boys’ cross country team has received the NHSCA highest coaching honor after his harriers added an 11th state title to his 34-year coaching resume.

The Woodlands both began and finished the season as the top ranked boys’ cross country program in the nation, the second time a Green-coached squad has done so.

After receiving this honor, Green continued to lead The Woodlands High School to success until he passed the “torch” to his son in 2008, but not before the Highlanders ran to their third straight team championship.   This one give Coach Green fifteen overall State Championships.

Over the course of his career, Green has coached many individual runners to State Championships, National Championships and Olympic Trials.

Green is still active and is the Head Coach of Team Green Running located in The Woodlands, Texas.
