Biography

Holmgren closed-out his brilliant high school career by helping Minnehaha to its fourth straight Minnesota state championship. The 7-foot-1-inch center with incredible ballhandling skills scored 18 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, handed-out seven assists and blocked two shots in the AAA championship game.

Holmgren, who is considered the top college basketball recruit in the Class of 2021, averaged 20.8 points per game during his senior season. He also averaged 12.6 rebounds per contest, 4.5 assists and 4.7 blocks while shooting 80% from the field.

For his outstanding season, Holmgren was also named the winner of the Naismith Award that is given to the top boys’ high school basketball player in the country.

Earlier this month, Holmgren announced he was accepting a scholarship to Gonzaga, which finished runner-up this past season in NCAA Tournament.
