“A good run cleans your lungs, but also your thoughts.” -Edward Cheserek

    Biography

Edward Cheserek may have had the best-ever high school cross-country career ever. While he was the nation’s top-ranked runner throughout most of his high school career, it was his story of coming to America as an orphan from Kenya that caught the attention of the running community.

Cheserek, who will attend Oregon on a scholarship, won the prestigious Foot Locker Nationals as a junior and a senior, plus set several national records, including the high school indoor two-mile record.

While at Oregon, Cheserek continued his dominence racking up a staggering 17 NCAA National Championships, 3 in Cross Country and 14 in Track & Field. He also has 21 All America honors to his name. He also claimed 11 total Pac-10 titles.

After college, Cheserek has continued to run professionally. In 2018 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Cheserek ran a 3:49:44 mile. This time was both a personal best and the second fasted indoor mile in the world.

    Biography

Jabari Parker leaves the Chicago high school basketball scene the way he entered it – a champion.

Parker, who will attend Duke in the fall, led Simeon to its fourth straight Illinois Class 4A championship during the 2012-13 season. What made Parker’s senior season special was the fact that he was able to battle back from a broken foot that he suffered during last summer.

Even though he wasn’t 100 percent at the start of the season, Parker led his team to a 30-3 record while averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Parker attended Duke University and played for one year. As a freshman, he was named the 2014 ACC Rookie of the Year. He was also named first team All-ACC-Team. After the season, he declared his entry to the NBA Draft. He was subsequently the second overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Parker was traded a handful of times and is now playing for the Sacramento Kings as of 2020.

    Biography

Clint Frazier capped off his high school career by being drafted by the Cleveland Indians with the fifth overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft in June.

The 6-foot 180-pound senior center-fielder batted .485 with 17 home runs, 56 runs scored, 45 RBI and a 1.134 slugging percentage this season. Frazier led Loganville (26-6) to the Class AAAAA quarterfinals this past season. Frazier had already signed his major league contract.

Frazier started his professional career in the minor leagues. He was promoted from Class A to AA to AAA before being traded to the New York Yankees in July of 2016. Frazier spent the rest of the season on the Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders. He spent the first few months of the next season there until he was called up to the Majors.

Frazier played his first game as a New York Yankee on July 1, 2017 and made an immediate impact with a double his first time to bat and a homerun the second. He finished the season in the majors. Frazier was plagued with a concussion in 2018 and was inactive for most of the season. In 2019, he split time between the majors and the minors. Most recently, he was called up to the majors again in August of 2020.
