Biography
Steve Tirapelle led Clovis High to its third straight California state wrestling championship during the 2012-13 season, plus a lofty national ranking.
So far, in his illustrious career as a head coach, Tirapelle has coached 109 state medalists and 29 state champions over his 34 year career – 102 place finishers and 27 state champions were at Clovis.
Since being honored, Tirapelle and the Cougars won another two CIF titles in 2014 and 2015, to make it five straight. At the 2015 CIF’s, the Cougars set a new state record earning a team score of 276.5 points.
In March of 2018, he announced his retirement. Over the duration of his career, he coached a total of 33 State Champions, including sons Adam, Alex and Troy.

Biography
Prior to taking over at Delton Kellogg in 2006, the team had never had a winning season. No girls’ team in any sport had ever won a regional title. Magelssen and team worked to change that by creating Delton Kellogg into a powerhouse.
In 2012, Magelssen added to his national record for victories by leading Delton Kellogg School to the Michigan Class B state semifinals.
Magelssen was the head coach at Portage Northern for 28 years. He lead the Huskies to 10 state titles. Magelssen is the second all-time winningest volleyball coach, with 1,832 victories at the time of his retirement. Magelssen retired after the 2012 season.
He was part of the inaugural class of inductees into the Michigan Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2004.

Biography
June Villers, a DeSoto alum, has built the Eagles into one of Texas’ top programs over the last decade. This past year, DeSoto won its third straight Texas Class 5A girls’ title. The state championship was the fourth overall for Villers’ team, including runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2010. In addition, she was the assistant coach in 2007 when the Eagles brought home another state title.
During her time as head coach, she’s coached nationally-ranked athletes in the 4X400, long jump, triple jump, discus, shot put, 4X100, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and 400m. She has had 30 student-athletes receive full scholarships and many more that received partial scholarships.
She led DeSoto to four consecutive state titles from 2016 until 2019. The team also finished second in the 2015 season.
Villers has been honored three times as the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association Coach of the Year. She was inducted into the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame in January of 2018..
Most recently, she was named the 2019 National Boys and Girls High School Track & Field Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Biography
Robert Steele has had an incredible career at North Rowan that has seen him win 15 NCHSAA state championships, including a runner-up finish this past season.
From 1994 through 1998, North Rowan won five straight state championships. He’s a member of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. Additionally, he was named as one of the 100 Coaches to Remember during the NCHSAA’s centennial in 2013.
in 2019 Steele was selected as part of the inaugural class of the North Carolina High School Track and Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame. He has also been inducted into the Livingstone College Sports Hall of Fame and the Salisbury-Rowan Sports Hall of Fame.

Biography
For 42 years Vin Romeo has pulled double duty as the head coach of the girls’ and boy’s tennis teams at The Miami Valley School. He started both programs over four decades ago.
This past season, Coach Romeo was saluted as Ohio’s all-time wins leader with over 600 victories for each program.
Romeo continued to coach until he stepped down in 2015.

Biography
Tony Splendore has been the boys’ and girls’ tennis coach at Mt. Pleasant High School in western Pennsylvania for 39 years.
With well-over 600 victories, Splendore is one of the winningest boys’ tennis coaches in Pennsylvania. Splendore started the school’s tennis program in 1972 when it had no home tennis courts, meaning the school had to play every match on the road.
This past year, Splendore, who is retired from teaching, returned to the sidelines as the boys’ head basketball coach.
After being honored, Splendore left Mt. Pleasant and took the head coach position at Greensburg Central Catholic. He won his 700th career victory in the WPIAL consolation finals. Splendore continues to lead the Centurions on and off the court.

Biography
Nick Frasersmith has been on the staff at Regis Jesuit since the mid-80’s, taking over the girls’ swim program in 2003. This past season, Frasersmith led his school to its second Colorado 5A state championship in three years.
One of Frasersmith’s biggest challenges this year was managing the senior year of Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin, who returned to the pool to close out her high school career after an incredible summer performance at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
Since being honored, Frasersmith continues to lead Regis Jesuit’s girls program. Additionally, he took over the boys’ team in 2014. In 2018, he led the boys’ to another state title with a victory in the last event.

Biography
Kevin Kinel has been the head coach at Chesterton for over three decades. The 2012-13 school year was another great one as his Trojans won four individual events and two relay gold medals on the way to the school’s third Indiana state championship in the last six years.
In his career Kinel has produced 53 first-team All-Americans and three Olympic Trial qualifiers. This year he was also named Coach of the Year by the Indiana High School Swimming Coaches Association.
Kinel continued to lead Chesterton for another 10 years before retiring after the 2019 season. After 40 years at the helm, Kinel coached his girls’ to 20 consecutive DAC and sectional titles and 21 for the boys’ teams. Additionally, his swimmers have nabbed 51 individual and relays titles and hold 18 Indiana state records.

Biography
Robert Earl Radford has built Northern High School to a softball powerhouse. In 2013 Radford’s team was ranked #1 by MaxPreps.com after winning its sixth straight Maryland state softball title. The Patriots finished 23-0, extending their win streak to 76 straight without a loss.
In addition to Northern, Radford is the manager and head coach of the Bayside Blues, an A-Level Travel Team in Maryland. He still remains involved after 28 years.
Radford stepped down after twelve seasons. He rebuilt Northern to state prominence. Over his time coaching he held a record of 227-43-1. The team won eight Class 3A state championships and seven Southern Maryland Athletic Conference crowns.
Radford accepted an assistant position at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. for the 2017 season.

Biography
Trinity Catholic’s (formerly St. Thomas Aquinas) Vince Drake is a legend in high school soccer, becoming the first coach in America to win 1,000 games as girls’ and boys’ soccer coach. Drake passed the 1,000 win plateau in 2011.
Drake has led the girls’ program to one state title and the boys’ soccer program to 10 Missouri state championships.
Since being honored, Drake is still at the helm at Trinity. His girls’ team have placed second and third in the 2015 and 2014 seasons, respectively.
Drake was inducted as the inaugural class into the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013. Additionally, Drake received the “Metro Legends Award” from the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame the same year. He was then inducted to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 2014.
Drake retired after the 2015 season with over 1,000 career victories (boys’ and girls’ combined). His teams won a collective 41 district championships. His teams earned seven state runner-up finishes and twelve state titles. On July 25, 2015, Drake was honored by the Saint Louis FC during halftime of their match.

Biography
Paul Rose has been the head boys’ soccer coach at Jesuit High School since 1979 and during that time he’s become the winningest (684 victories) high school soccer coach in California. In 2011 he was named to the California Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
This past season, Rose led his team to a #2 overall national ranking, finishing with a record of 27-1-1. During his tenure Jesuit has finished #1 in the nation three times (2003, 2008, 2011).
Rose has maintained his success since being honored. His team once again was ranked the #1 team in the nation in 2015. Most recently, Jesuit placed second in 2019 and once again in March of 2020.

Barrington High School head coach Jodi Schoeck, a member of the Illinois Coaches Association Hall of Fame, just completed her 26th season as the leader of the Fillies program.
She has guided the Fillies to 11 league titles and 12 Illinois regional titles Under Schoeck, Barrington has appeared nine times in the state finals. Schoeck’s 1996 team finished third in the state.
Since being honored, Schoeck and her Fillies continue to excel on the golf course. Her ladies finished second in the state the past three seasons. In 2018, Schoeck was named the NHSACA Coach of the Year.
Schoeck retired after the 2018 season after 32 years of coaching.

Biography
Jim Jacobsen has had an incredible 31-year career as the boys’ head golf coach at Bergen Cathoic. The 2012-13 season saw Jacobsen win his 900th match. Jacobsen’s career record is 917-31-1, which he attributes to both luck and strategy.
Since being honored, Jacobsen has continued his success. He led his team to three additional state championships. From 2016 until 2019, Jacobsen’s team had an impressive 99-0 record. His teams also won the Tournament of Champions from 2014-16.
In April of 2019, Jacobsen hit another huge milestone in his storied career. He earned his 1,100th career victory with a 143-181 win over Pascack Valley. He was named the 2019 NJ.com Golf Coach of the Year. His team also finished second at the Tournament of Champions. He holds a career record of 1,122-33-1.

Biography
J.T. Curtis is the 2013 National High School Coaches Association’s National High School Football Coach of the Year after leading the school, founded by his father John, to its 25th Louisiana high school football championship in 2012. The Patriots also were crowned “mythical” national champs by multiple national media outlets.
Since taking over the John Curtis program, Curtis has become America’s second winningest coach with 520 victories. 2009 NHSCA National Football Coach of the Year John McKissick of Summerville High School in South Carolina is the all-time leader with 601 victories. Coach Curtis’ record is 520-54-6. The amazing thing about his record is that Curtis’ first team in 1969 didn’t win a game going 0-10.
Since being honored, Curtis continues to lead the Patriots to success. The team won an additional state title in 2018 and was the runners-up in 2017 and 2018. Additionally, the Pats also made appearances in 2016 and 2019, both year’s suffering a defeat in the semifinals.
In 2017 Curtis was inducted into the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame.
After the 2019 season Curtis jumped to the second most winningest coach in the nation and just four victories shy of the 600- win club with a career record of 592-66-6. He will be entering his 52nd season in the fall of 2020.

Donahue ended the 2012 season by guiding Watertown to its 13th Massachusetts state field hockey championship, which was also the school’s 92nd straight game without a loss; going 90-0-2 during the streak.
The win streak is tied for the fourth longest all-time in America. In 2012, her 27th year as head coach of the program, Watertown finished a perfect 23-0, while wining the MIAA Division 2 title. Donahue’s lifetime record is 528-30-45.
Since being honored, Donahue has continued to lead Watertown. After 33 years at the helm, her teams have won 18 Division 2 State Championships. In 2019, she was inducted into the NFHCA Hall of Fame. She holds a career record of 678-33-46.

This past season Seaholm’s cross country Head Coach Jeff Devantier led the Lady Maples to a first-ever MHSAA Division I State Team Championship.
Featuring three top 10 nationally ranked teams, including then US#1 Grosse Pointe South HS, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and US#5 Saline HS, Saline, MI; the Division I team championship was the most competitive state championship in the nation.
While claiming the state team championship Seaholm HS also claimed a share of the National Team Championship and finished the 2012 cross country season ranked US#1.
After being honored, Devantier led Seaholm to another two state titles in 2014 and 2015. Devantier stepped away from coaching shortly after winning the school’s third championship.

This past season Perham’s cross country Head Coach Jeff Morris led the Yellowjackets to a state meet record 37-points and 16:16 team average to claim the MSHSL Division A State Team Championship. The following week the Minnesota small school came within 10-points of 3rd place at NXN Heartland and being eligible for an at-large berth for Nike Cross Nationals.
The Perham boys team was awarded the Division II National Team Championship as the top school in the nation with a total enrollment less than 500 students, while also being ranked US#26 overall.
Since being honored, Morris continues to lead Perham’s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams. He is also the assistant for the boys’ and girls’ Track & Field program, working with the long distance runners. Morris has aided in the development of 21 individual and team state championships in cross country and track thus far.

Biography
Miner Webster is the 2012 National High School Coaches Association’s National High School Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year after leading Highland to a 32-3 record, which put him one victory away from playing for a possible ninth Arizona state championship.
This past season, Webster won his 700th game as a girls’ head basketball coach and finished the year with an all-time mark of 712-107 with stops at Highland and Gilbert High Schools.
Before becoming a girls’ head coach, Webster also was the head coach of the boys’ basketball team at Parker High School. Webster is second on Arizona’s all-time girls’ basketball coaching victories list behind Don Petranovich, who retired with 778 wins.
Webster continued to lead Highland until his retirement after the 2018 season. He concluded his career with a total of 816 career wins, eight state championships and 22 region titles. He is the winningest girls’ basketball coach in Arizona history.
In 2014 Webster was inducted into the Arizona High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame.

Biography
Tony Harper is the 2013 National High School Coaches Association’s National High School Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year after becoming the fourth boys’ basketball coach in America to win 900 wins during the 2012-13 school year.
Harper, who led Montwood to a 27-6 record this past season, ended the year with 908 lifetime victories. He, who took-over at Montwood in 1990, was named the University Interscholastic League’s Texas Boys’ Basketball Coach of the Year in 2012. Montwood named the gymnasium in his honor in 2010.
In April, Harper resigned at Montwood to take the head coaching job at Cathedral High School.
Harper has continued his success on the court since being honored in 2013. He hit another milestone in his coaching journey on February 10, 2017 with a 47-33 victory to garnish his 1,000th career victory. He’s the second winningest coach in the nation.
In 2018, he was inducted into the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

Biography
Phil Clark, who has been a head baseball coach for over 30 years at three high schools in Tennessee, has won over 900 games during an illustrious career.
The state’s all-time wins leader came to Bartlett in 2003 and led the school to its first state title in 2007.
In all, his teams have won five Tennessee state baseball titles. This past season, Clark guided his team to a 26-11 record. Clark is a member of the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association and National High School Baseball Association’s Hall of Fames.
